ARC Review: THE COUNCILLOR
Buckle up and fasten your seat belt, folks, cause I’m about to demand a HYPE for this.

Review: RED RISING (RED RISING SAGA #1)
Lots of good ideas, some wasted potential, an interesting Panemesque setting on Mars, but too much bad writing, Sevro ex machina and Darrow Stu for my taste – still, this series looks promising.

Review: SOUL OF THE WORLD (THE ASCENSION CYCLE #1)
Mealing has written a terrific debut filled with excellent worldbuilding, fascinating characters, and a plot that couldn’t be more high stakes. Highly recommended for veterans of Fantasy and lovers of original magic systems- and also for fans of military/flintlock fantasy.

Review: ROTHERWEIRD (ROTHERWEIRD #1)
Rotherweird’s setting, characters, and writing style are a magnificent mixture of Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, Stranger Things, and Doc Martin. It has that amazing combination of the charm of a rural British town, it has the witty, keen look at each individual character that lives in this town, and it has that mysterious vibes of somethiny otherworldly going on unnoticed. Something dangerous, something creepy- I LOVE IT.

Noch’n Buch: DIE KOMTESS VON HABERLUND UND ANDERE GESCHICHTEN
Hab noch’n Buch geschrieben, was soll man im Lockdown auch sonst tun?

Review: SENLIN ASCENDS (THE BOOKS OF BABEL #1)
So. I finally read this. Many thanks go out to everyone who kept recommending this one to me because reading this has been a joy. The first couple of chapters were just okay, but once Thomas Senlin entered the Parlor, this had me hooked.

Review: THE EVENING AND THE MORNING (KINGSBRIDGE #4)
Dear Ken Follett,

Rezension: KINGSBRIDGE – DER MORGEN EINER NEUEN ZEIT (KINGSBRIDGE #4)
Lieber Ken Follett,
danke für alles, aber hier geht unser gemeinsamer Weg zu Ende…

Review: VICIOUS (VILLIANS #1)
One of my goals for this reading year is to read more books from five authors whose works have inspired me over the past year; V.E. Schwab among those after The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue which in my opinion was the best new release of 2020. ‚Vicious‘ had a lot I loved about ‚Addie LaRue‘, but also some weaknesses.

Review: HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS (HARRY POTTER #7)
To me, this is the perfect ending to the best series there ever was. Rowling has made a whole generation into readers with this series, and this is the worthy coronation. It’s beyond competition. There’s so much happening, so many threats, so many climaxes, so much heartbreak and so much love.
